Next Retreat: Finding Atlantis
Ever since Plato’s Critias, and its description of an ideal society called Atlantis, people from all walks of life, and various disciplines, have searched for the fabled lost city. While the physical hunt has fueled the media frenzy for the last two hundred years, Atlantis’s real treasure lies in metaphysics. The clue that the Atlantis story is allegorical is in its source. Plato tells us that he got the tale from an Egyptian High Priest by the name of Solon. The Egyptian Mystery School he represented was the repository of the world’s metaphysical knowledge. The stories he would have shared reflected this.
The basic story is of a Shangri-la, destroyed by its own technology and lack of moral compass. Sound familiar? Most of us feel so pressured by the external forces of the life that we live that much of our moral compass is ignored. This is not sustainable, as many in the “western” world are now finding out.
The retreat is a return to the original Atlantean ideals of Eudemonia, Harmony and Balance, the re discovering of Shangri-la. It will incorporate both sound and vibrational work as well as re-patterning exercises designed to keep our focus on areas vital to our holistic development. It is a blueprint to enlightenment.
“Spiritual practice is often expounded upon but very rarely practiced”
We are all aware, in our quiet moments, of an internal voice; something that exists beyond the day to day grind that passes for life in the material world. This eternal spark, which we all carry, has been the cause of mans search for meaning throughout history. In a simplified and often distorted way this has evolved into religious practice of all forms; in a deeper and esoteric form it grew into mystery school and occult practices.
Those who are attending a Retreat with specific topics they would like covered are encouraged to e mail them to us ASAP and we will include them in the mix.
This is for those of you who are ready to make sense of the shift we are currently experiencing, and to embrace a deeper spiritual life. Be warned however that this is not for the vaguely curious but is focused on accessing a deep connection with mystic life in all its daily facets. No prior Mindlink experience is necessary.
As always the places will be severely limited to ensure quality of transmission of teachings.
Previous attendee’s comments:
"Am leaving in a much better place than when I came. Loved every minute of it." Mary O'Brien
"Nourishment for my soul. Loved it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." Gabrielle McAuley
"Very special - powerful and I enjoyed it more than I could have imagined." Ben McAlear
"I can't begin to truly describe in words my experience over the three days." Namh O'Brien
Retreats can be packaged for corporate or private groups.
Article by Rod Briggs for Life & Style Magazine on 13 October 2011, after running a Retreat:
The Real You
Most of my work is cerebral in nature and involves teaching people how to get the most out of their grey matter by improving the quality of their thinking. The lecture tours run to often hectic schedules leaving little, if any, downtime. Today however is different.
I have just returned from running a retreat on the grounds of an old 17th Century monastery, in a National Forest Park. In front of our lodging is a gin clear lake at the very head waters of the river Lee, surrounded by the heavily forested mountains of West Cork. The energy in the valley is both tangible and very peaceful. For the attendees the retreat was conducted in silence allowing for the insights that internal stillness brings. When not actively delivering lectures I too remained silent. Much vibrational work and a daily dose of Qigong, as well as no watches, mobile phones or television meant that by the time we came to leave no one was in a hurry. It was as if we had rediscovered a long lost and much sought after Shangri-La. The depth of the sense of internal stillness we carried only became apparent on the journey back to town.
When I drive I usually listen to local radio, it gives me a sense of what’s going on in the area I am travelling through. I switched it on as I left the retreat and immediately switched it off again; what I normally would perceive as relaxing background music I now found jarring and intrusive. As I drove in silence with the windows open I felt at one with the environment; the heavy mist which cloaked the mountains either side of the old winding road lent an air of mystery to the journey as if I was travelling through time as well as space.
On arrival at the hotel the people all seemed frenzied, their greetings too strident and their smiles too shallow. The change however, was not theirs. My senses, my very sense of self, had been reset to a more refined balance point. I had been renewed.
Try it yourself. Devote some time. A week is ideal but a day, or even a morning, would make a difference. Banish phones, watches and books. Be still, be silent and listen. After the initial panic and the settling down of the mind you will discover something very beautiful. Yourself.
